The problem What it already costs you

  • The furnace is the consumption. Without measuring it unit by unit —melting, regenerators, working end, feeders— the bill arrives as one block and nobody knows which stage drifted.
  • Production lives in the ERP and energy in the meter. Cost per tonne is worked out by hand at month end, if at all.
  • ISO 50001 asks for a baseline and performance targets. Without history there is no baseline.

With Lynx What changes

  • Every furnace and every unit, with its consumption

    Electricity, natural gas, oxygen and compressed air measured per process unit, with analysis of peaks, demand and residual consumption. When a stage drifts, a deviation alarm fires: no waiting for the bill to find out which one.

  • Cost per tonne stops being an estimate

    Lynx takes the tonnes from the ERP and the measured consumption, and gives the unit cost per tonne produced, month by month.

  • A baseline for ISO 50001

    Continuous history, EnPI indicators and actual against expected. When the standard asks for the baseline and the performance targets, the history is already measured and does not have to be rebuilt from invoices.
