Lynxby DOMINION

Steel & metal processing Tonnes live in SAP. kWh live on the line meter. Nobody joins them.

Both numbers already exist; what does not exist is the line joining them. Lynx draws it: every SAP order, with the kWh it took.

Plant management, production and energy.

The problem What it already costs you

  • A plant closes more than a thousand orders a month and energy arrives as one invoice. Which order cost more than it should, and why, is something no system tells you.
  • Stops are logged with a reason, but time lost per reason is worked out by hand. When it is worked out.
  • Several plants, several countries. Comparing one plant’s report with the next one’s: an email and a spreadsheet. Finding out which device stopped communicating: a call to each plant.

With Lynx What changes

  • The order that cost more than it should, flagged

The module takes orders from the ERP and the line’s energy meter, and gives each order’s Wh/kg ratio against the median of the period. The ones that stand out are flagged.

  • Stops, ranked by time lost

The breakdown by reason comes from the order’s own data: you see where time is lost, not an estimate.

  • Every plant, comparable in the same view

Reports come out in the same format for every plant and can be compared with each other. The communications view lists active connections, warnings and errors, grouped by site.

energy cost per tonne and per line: the indicator that brings certification closer

Every line with its electricity, steam, water and gas consumption, and the energy cost per tonne produced compared with previous months. Savings reports measure what each measure delivered: compressor upgrades, steam recirculation and boiler replacement.

The group’s communications overview: 586 of the 605 configured connections up. Devices are counted separately: 18 in error, located by plant.

orders outside the usual range, pinpointed

On one month of real data, the module matched the production orders coming from SAP with the consumption Lynx was already recording on the plant’s four lines. The 103 orders outside the range are the ones worth looking at one by one, and all 46 stop reasons that month were identified, with no loose codes.

Figures come from real installations. A sector that cannot publish them yet says so on its page. Customer, plant and line names are not published.
